What makes laser stripping gentler than sanding or chemicals?
Sanding removes paint by removing wood — on carved moulding and turned detail it either misses the recesses or flattens them. Chemical strippers soften everything including the wood surface, raise grain, and leave residue in corners that fights every finish you apply afterward. The laser vaporizes the paint layer and stops at the wood, because wood and paint absorb the energy differently. Detail that took a carver days to make comes through intact.

Is it safe on old, delicate wood?
Settings are dialed per piece — species, age, and finish type all factor in — and we test an inconspicuous area first. Dry process, no soaking, no raised grain: most pieces are ready for finish work as soon as we're done. If a piece isn't a good laser candidate (some very soft or heat-sensitive woods aren't), we'll tell you at the quote stage.

Does laser stripping burn or scorch the wood?
Not when it’s set up correctly. Power and speed are matched to the species and finish, and we test a hidden spot first. The paint layer absorbs the energy and lifts; the wood below stays cool enough to keep its color and grain.
Can you strip paint from carved details?
Yes — this is where laser has no real competition. The beam follows any profile, so recesses, flutes, and carving come clean without the flattening that sanding causes or the residue chemicals leave in corners.
Is stripped wood ready to refinish?
Usually immediately. The process is dry, so there’s no neutralizing wash and no waiting for the wood to dry out — most pieces can take stain or finish the same day.
